To those meeting me for the first time, allow me to give a short introduction of myself and how I got into photography. 

 

My name is André Clarke, born and raised in Clarendon, Jamaica. I grew up in a household where though the money & food weren’t always much, the love however, was always plenty. Growing up in an environment without many options taught me how to get creative with whatever was available. I often found myself picking up new hobbies that allowed me to get constructive with my hands and creative with my imagination - Drawing, Carpentry, Cooking, you name it. 

 

I also happen to be a retired professional Track & Field athlete, with my specialty being the 400m hurdles event, ranking both 1st in Jamaica and 7th in the world in 2018. Being a Track & Field athlete allowed me to travel the world and see all forms of art through the people, their culture, food, music, and so forth.

 

Surprisingly, there is no elaborate story on how I got into photography. Simply put, one day I just picked up a camera and I have yet to put it down. I started out taking nature shots and pictures of family & close friends, and before I knew it, SDP Photo Studio was born, currently based in Maryland, USA.

 

What can someone expect to get out of an SDP photoshoot? SDP Photo Studio targets the perfect imperfections, the beauty, in every individual and brings them to life. My goal is for my art to capture and compliment the hidden gems in every moment, memory, and milestone. SDP Photo Studio was born in 2020 and God has propelled me so far in this arena, allowing me to work with a range of different people who all have a different story to tell through my lens.

 

Going into any photoshoot, it is important that I get to know a bit about my client first. As a photographer, it is my duty to familiarize myself with their perfect imperfections and light them  up with my camera. Furthermore, I want my clients to know that their opinion and vision are important, and so we will draw out a plan that will best fulfill their expectations of the photoshoot's outcome. My priority is customer-satisfaction, so expect to receive my best in bringing that into fruition.
